Brent Cook is an economic geologist and junior mining analyst with over 34 years of mining industry experience. For 20 years he worked as an independent consultant evaluating mineral projects for most of the major, and many junior mining companies. He was also involved in target generation, grass-roots exploration, drill campaigns, feasibility studies and bank audits involving a variety of metals scattered across five continents and about 60 countries. In 1997 he became the mining analyst for Rick Rule’s Global Resource Investments (Sprott-Global), advising two funds. In 2008 he started the junior resource investment letter Exploration Insights.
Mr. Gordon Chunnett, B.S.C. (Hons), served as the Head of Platinum Geology and Exploration for Anglo Platinum Limited. He worked for 28 years of the 31 years with Anglo associated companies and supervised a large team on several continents. He has extensive experience in platinum mining, mine exploration and development, exploration for Platinum Group Elements (PGE) in South Africa, Canada, China and Zimbabwe. He has been involved in resource evaluation, mine planning and platinum mine production scheduling. Mr. Chunnett has unparalleled experience in the Bushveld and Great Dyke, which served well for the exploration projects that he headed up in Brazil, Canada, Russia, China, Zimbabwe and elsewhere. He qualified at Rhodes University.
Darin Wagner is a Canadian based Geologist with 30 years of experience in the exploration and mining sector. He spent the first 10 years of his career with two of Canada’s most successful senior mining companies – Noranda Exploration and Cominco Ltd. – working globally as an exploration geologist and manager. Between 2000 and 2009 he was part of the team which founded and managed a trio of successful exploration companies – MAG Silver, Platinum Group Metals and West Timmins Mining. Mr. Wagner engineered the sale of West Timmins in 2009 to what is now Tahoe Mining for Cdn $424 million on the back of discovery of the Thunder Creek and Hwy 144 deposits in Canada. Since 2010 he has been the President of Canadian award winning explorer Balmoral Resources Ltd.
Barry Dawes’ expertise in the Australian resources sector is based on his knowledge as a geologist combined with over 30 years’ experience in the resources investment sector. He has been an internationally rated analyst.
Prior to founding Boutique Investment Firm “Martin Place Securities” in 2000, Barry had worked in senior executive roles of investment management with BT Australia, equities research for Bain Deutsche Bank and equities research and corporate finance for Macquarie Bank. Since starting Martin Place Securities he has sponsored over 30 IPOs and raised in excess of A$1.1bn in mostly equity capital for resources companies.He is currently a Director of a number of unlisted public operating companies.
Barry has a substantial depth of knowledge and experience in the international resources industry and is well known for his views on the sector. He has presented at numerous conferences in Australia and throughout the world.
